We ushered in the New Year full of thanksgiving for the things that happened within the Reformed Church in Hungary. Looking back at 2014, some of the highlights include:Unity and Solidarity, Parnerships, Communication campaigns, Syond Meeting, international Guests, Revision and Research reports, New translation edition of the Bible and Calvin Insitutes, the Holocust Jubilee, 10 years of the Accra Confession, Church Electoins and other events.

From Dissension to Unity

From the era of the church districts competing with each other, through the continuous expansion of reformed institutions and the strengthening of the unity in the Carpathian Basin, in the last 18 years we arrived at the community of churches looking for its future – the outgoing Presiding Bishop, Gusztáv Bölcskei evaluated the events of his three terms in a row on the 15th, closing session of the 13th Synod.

International Guests Attended the RCH Synod

The Reformed Church in Hungary is always intentional where the maintenance of international ecumenical relationships is concern. It is a tradition for us to ensure that our officially recognised partners are invited to send representatives to our Synod Meetings. In the same way the Reformed Church in Hungary receives invites to from all corners of the world, from America to Europe and from South Africa to South Korea. 

Report on Closing Synod of RCH's 13th Cycle

The 13th Synod Cycle’s 15th Synod Meeting of the Reformed Church in Hungary took place last week on 12th – 13th of November 2014. It was the last Synod of a 6-year-Cycle and the last before elections of new officials.

 The issue of unity should be present more and more sturdily in our mind-set. Without that, the service of the Reformed Church is inconceivable.” – highlighted in the overall retrospective of the last ten years’ reformed cooperation in the Carpathian Basin  - reported on the General Convent’s tenth, and the  establishment of the Hungarian Reformed Church’s fifth anniversary – Zoltán Tarr, General Secretary of the RCH on the first day of the Synod’s cycle closing session on 12th of November.

The Synod of the Refomed Church in Hungary will take place on 12th - 13th of November 2014. Among many delegates expected from various parts of Hungary are international guests. These Guests are from partner Churches in Asia, Europe and Africa.
