Breaking Down Barriers from Both Sides

Both sides are needed in Roma Ministry to break down barriers, concluded the three-day international conference, organized by Churches' Commission for Migrants in Europe (CCME) in Budapest, in cooperation with the Reformed Church in Hungary. The meeting focused on ways of implementing ministry among Roma and Sinti and the responsibility of Churches in terms of advocacy, reconciliation, community building and diaconia.

Mission to the People

Mission is a priority task in the life of the RCH. Through active mission, our church reaches out to every needy group in Hungarian society.

The diaconal service aims to reach people in need and motivate Reformed congregations to "Carry each other's burdens." (Gal. 6:2)

The partnership and cooperation with churches and organisations around the world, has always played a major role in the life of the RCH.

 

Coordination of Ecumenical Relations

The International and Ecumenical Committee, assisted by the Ecumenical Advisory Board, is responsible for the RCH’s ecumenical strategy.

RCH published the call on congregations to join the initiative of Pope Francis, supported by ecumenical organisations, to unite in praying the Lord’s Prayer on Wednesday, 25 March, at noon.

All Church Events Suspended

In light of the coronavirus the Presidium of RCH requested congregations to suspend all church events with immediate effect. Beside restrictions, it calls for prayer, sobriety and responsibility.

Middle East

Scholarship for Young Christians

Károli Gáspár University of the RCH founded a scholarship scheme to provide study opportunities for young Christians from selected countries in the Middle-East, Asia and Africa.

Peacemaker from Pakistan visits Hungary

Eric Sarwar, Presbyterian minister and musician from Pakistan, serving as a musical peacemaker in an Islamic context will be visiting our Church in the coming days to deepen relationship.

Migration and Refugee

Toward a World of Neighbours

Representatives of RCH attended the visioning meeting in Malmö initiated by Antje Jackelen, Archbishop of the Church of Sweden as part of the World of Neighbours initiative.

Radical Hospitality

RCH delegation of 5 volunteers and students participates at the 18th Annual European Refugee Highway Partnership Roundtable which is taking place in Malmö between 3 and 7 February.
