RCH Presiding Bishop visits Jordan
2018. április 24., keddRev. István Szabó, the Presiding Bishop of the Reformed Church in Hungary, accompanied the Hungarian Minister of Justice on his official visit to Jordan. During their stay, they visited Christian communities, as well as shared conversations of terrorism and international cooperation.
On Monday, 16 April 2018, Rev. István Szabó, the Presiding Bishop of the Reformed Church in Hungary, accompanied the Hungarian Minister of Justice, Mr. László Trócsányi, on his official visit to Jordan. During the visit, the Bishop met with various Christian communities in Jordan, including Latin Patriarch Emeritus of Jerusalem, Fouad Twal. Alongside Mr. Trócsányi, Rev. Szabó also visited Jordan’s Christian holy sites, Mount Nebo and the Baptism Site.
In addition, Rev. Szabó sat with the Hungarian Minister of Justice, as he held talks with his Jordanian counterpart, the Minister of Justice, Avad Masagbe. During the meeting, both parties agreed that the fight against terrorism can only be successful within the framework of international cooperation and closer cooperation between Europe and the Middle East. Mr. Trócsányi offered an inter-ministerial cooperation program to be realized, which included expert visits and training courses. Mr. Trócsányi also met with the Chairman of the Jordanian Senate’s Foreign Affairs Committee, Nasser Lauzi, and the President of Jordan’s Constitutional Court, Taher Hikmat.
