Let the Countdown to Starpoint Begin!
2013. április 04., csütörtökThe venue is set, theme chosen, bands lined up and speakers scheduled. Starpoint is coming! It's hard to imagine that this year's festival in Mezőtúr is only 109 days away, but rest easy, the team has been working around the clock to ensure that this Starpoint will be the best one yet!
Each day will begin with a lecture from the main speaker, József Csomós who is the youth coordinator of the RCH's Cistibiscan church district. He will focus on one question each day: Who am I? Where is my place in the community? How does God see me? After the day's lecture, youth will participate in small group discussion of 10-12 people led by trained small group leaders. The aim of this Starpoint festival is to help young people by giving them guidance in their private life, work life and relationships, and a mooring for them to hold in their day-to-day stresses. The week's overall topic of identity affects, and is involved, in all the festival programs.
During the afternoon, participants will be able to visit different tents in the "Market of Possibilities." There will be a variety of specialized tents, for example worship, games, sports, cultural programs as well as places to learn about different ministries and missions of the RCH. There will even be childcare provided for parents with young families so they are able to join in the fellowship. And of course there will be awesome music to enjoy throughout the day. This year, we have rounded up a great group of well-known Hungarian bands that represent Christian values in their music with Brains, Kiscsillag and B-Ugrók as the festival headliners.
We are also beyond excited to share in this experience with young adult delegates from the RCH's partner churches around the world. This year we will welcome international guests from Canada, Czech Republic, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Germany and England. These international participants will have a slightly different schedule than the other Hungarian participants but there are specific programs designed to incorporate Hungarian youth so they are able to meet and share in the excitement of Starpoint together.
As always, check the website for new festival updates (csillag.reformatus.hu) and like the Starpoint Reformed Youth Festival on Facebook for more! See you in July!
