2019. július 09., keddKároli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary is offering a new Master of Theology program in English. The application deadline has been extended.
The Master of Theology at Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary, Budapest is a two-year Master’s Programme with 120 ECTS credits in English that starts in September each academic year. It is accredited by the Hungarian Accreditation Committee. The programme is suited as a degree preparing for a teaching ministry and/ or doctoral studies. The programme offers hermeneutical and contextual approach in all theological disciplines and introduces deep biblical insights to current problems of our western society
The Master of Theology consists of two phases. The first phase provides a two semester general studies of Biblical languages (Hebrew or Greek), Biblical Hermeneutics and Exegesis, Systematic Theology, History and Presence of Church and Society, Living and Serving in the Church (Spirituality, Community and Communication).
In the second phase students may choose two of the following modules:
• Church and state
• Church and Israel
• Ethics in a technical society
• Gospel on the periphery (Roma, refugee etc. issues)
• Youth ministry The fourth semester ends with a final master thesis.
The Faculty of Theology of Károli Gáspár University is a place where students and academics from Reformed persuasion meet, study the Holy Scriptures and experience Christian tradition together. Theology cannot stick in saying that „God exists”, but it also has to say who God is, what God wants with us and what God wants from this World.
Admission requirements include a BA in Christian Religious Studies, sufficient oral communication skills in English and ability to write academic papers, substantial knowledge of the Bible, general knowledge of Church history and Christian doctrines, and basic skills in the field of practical theology (e.g., preaching, counseling, building and managing communities).
This study programme is available with Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship for the citizens of the following countries: Albania, Algeria, Argentina, Azerbaijan, Cape Verde, Cambodia, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kosovo, Kurdistan Regional Government/Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Morocco, Myanmar, Pakistan, Palestine, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Sudan, Syria, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Yemen
