János Lázár, Minister heading the Prime Minister’s Office and Presiding Bishop István Szabó signed a cooperation agreement regarding the ownership of the Károlyi-Csekonics Palace in Budapest.

The university may significantly extend its premises thanks to a major donation of the government to the Reformed Church in Hungary.

János Lázár, Minister heading the Prime Minister’s Office and Bishop István Szabó, Ministerial President of the Synod of the Reformed Church in Hungary signed a cooperation agreement regarding the ownership of the Károlyi-Csekonics Palace in Budapest. The government donated the renowned building to the Reformed Church to honour the 500th anniversary of the Reformation which will be commemorated in 2017.

The Reformed Church will subsequently hand over the building to Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary, which will be used for educational and representative purposes as well. By the help of a new educational unit in the centre of Budapest, the flagship institution of Reformed higher education in Hungary will have the opportunity to extend its capacities, and welcome a record number of new students under fitting conditions.
